YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College

Ms Diana Lo is a passionate educator with almost 20 years of experience in the field. She joined the YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College in 2003 as one of its founding teachers. Through the years, she has been a key leader in developing the school’s administrative foundations and its principles of pastoral care. She has held many roles, gaining a deep and wide experience working with teachers and non-teaching staff, students and parents. Her leadership roles have included Head of Department, Head of Year, Head of the Pastoral Team, Head of Administration & Admissions, Assistant Principal and Deputy Principal.

Ms Lo strongly believes that the YHKCC’s strength lies in its international style learning environment and its diverse, multi-cultural student body. She enjoys working closely with young people and is an advocate of all-round education to inspire students. She believes that each child is wonderfully made by God and that each person has their own talents. A key part of her vision is to provide different platforms for students to grow and shine – through academics, experiential learning, independent learning, community service, careers exposure, sports, music, arts and alternative programmes.

As a member of the Leadership Team of the YHKCC since 2010, Ms Lo has worked closely with other Leadership Team members to introduce a number of progressive initiatives that have made YHKCC one of the most sought after DSS secondary schools in Hong Kong. These initiatives included the introduction of an international curriculum (UK IGCSE and GCE ‘A-level” syllabuses), strengthening the pastoral care system, streamlining admissions procedures and upgrading school facilities. As Principal she and her team hope to continue to build the YHKCC’s reputation and further develop a learning environment where quality education is offered in a joyful and stimulating setting.

God’s love and His righteous values will never change. Ms Lo strongly believes that educating future generations in values based on the Christian faith is vital. She is determined to lead the team in the YHKCC to instill the school’s core values: acting with integrity, building a community that cares, serving one another in love, respecting ourselves & others, and being responsible.

Ms Lo was educated in Hong Kong. She obtained her Bachelor Degree of Science in Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology, Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master’s Degree in Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ms. Lo appreciates and embraces various styles of education from all over the world. She has participated in educational exchanges in China, Germany, Singapore, the USA and the United Kingdom, learning about each educational system. Going forward, she wishes to bring best practices in the worldwide education sector to the YHKCC, further enhancing the quality of education on and off campus.
