GRADE DESCRIPTORS

For reporting purposes standardized grade descriptors are used for all subjects.

Forms 1 - 3 School-Based Curriculum

 

The grade boundaries for all subjects taught in Forms 1, 2 and 3 are also standardized.

Forms 4 - 6 Hong Hong Stream (HKDSE)

 

The grade boundaries for all Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) subjects taught in Forms 4, 5 and 6 are aligned with the public examination thresholds.

Form 4 IGCSE Subjects

 

The grade boundaries for IGCSE subjects taught in Form 4 are aligned with the thresholds published by the examination boards: Cambridge Education International Assessment (CIE) and Pearson (Edexcel).

 

Cambridge IGCSEs are graded A*–G around the world. This grading system is well understood by students, parents and teachers, and is widely recognized by universities internationally. Edexcel GCSE/IGCSE subjects use the new 9–1 grading system.

The grade boundaries for GCE AS/A-level subjects taught in Forms 5 and 6 are aligned with the thresholds published by the examination boards: Cambridge Education International Assessment (CIE) and Pearson (Edexcel). There are no core subjects at GCE AS/A-level.
